after z visa

Salam Dear i am umar. i got my z type and i came back to china last month. please tell me how much time i have to apply my residence permit, i already got my temporary residence permit and my z type will expire in December 2015 that police man said that i have time to get residence permit till December so i can wait but i am not sure about it can you please tell me what i have to do?

Umar, as far as I know, you have only one month to process your residence permit after you enter PRC. Therefore, I'm wondering why the policeman told you that. By "temporary residence permit", what do you mean? Did you get a short-term Z type?

Dear sir thank you for reply temporary residence means i register myself at local police station after registration they said i can get residence permit in 3 months i ask him when i enter in china i just left one month for my residence permit he said no, your z visa will expire in december so you have time till December for residence permit now i am confuse about that

Umar, in normal cases, you need to get the residence permit within one month. If the police said you can get it within three months, then you can do this, but you had better confirm with the police again.
