About:Visiting Chinese Family

What is an appropriate gift for a Chinese host family I do not know

My name is Bill. I will be participating in a tour of China and understand one evening meal will be hosted by a Chinese family in their home. What is an appropriate gift for me to bring? How many gifts should be brought since I do not know how many family members will be there?

Bill, if you have a meal at the Chinese host's family, then I think you might bring a bottle of red wine or some snacks. When you get there, you can share them with other guests.

For what occasion? Birthday, wedding or a party? Ladies love perfume and cosmetics. You can prepare some for her birthday. For weddings, you might buy practical things, cups, tea sets or digital photo album. For a party, bring a bottle of good wine and some other food.
