About:Chinese Consulate in San Francisco

Will a transit visa be accepted for my travel?

My trip to Kathmandu requires an overnight in Shanghai and then a connection in Kunming the next day.

Hi Deborah, if your total layover time is not beyond 24 hours, you don't need the transit permit. If the time is longer, you can apply for a transit G type in advance.
