About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Hong Kong to cheng du to Hong kong

Want to visit a friend in Cheng du. Can someone provide any guidance on how to do a 72 a visit. Is a free transit possible

John, if you fly from HK to Chengdu and then to HK, this route does not meet the requirements of the 72-hour free transit. If you want to use it, I advise you to fly from HK to Chengdu to Macau and then back to HK.

Thank you for th reply. Could you recommend another means of travel to and from for a long 3 day weekend? I'm a westerner. When I arrived to HK this weeke, I found out my friend/Sifu retired to Cheng du. Looking to reconnect and say hello

Probably better to get a regular tourist type. Same day service from an agent [I can recommend one] or next day service from the Chinese consulate in HK.
