apply tourist visa from qatar

Question

what if my residency in qatar is about to expire or is already expired (just finishing 3 months extension), can I apply for a tourist L type? since i just wanted a stopover in china for like a week.

Gee, if your onward flight ticket is from PRC to Qatar, I think the validity of your residency card will affect the application. If the ticket is from PRC to another country that you have a valid entry permit, the remaining validity of the residency card does not matter much.
