longest stay possible

Question

I am planning to take a long vacation to China and visit family for 9-12 months if permitted. I am a naturalized citizen of US. What is the best way to be able to do this? I would like to travel at the end of Oct this year 2015. Thanks and also please advise on how long the process could be applying for such visas. Is there one type that can allow multiple entries on one entry permit for 12 months? (Planning to travel with family here and there once I am home to PRC)BestLisa

Hi, Lisa, if your family members are still Chinese citizens, the best option for you is to apply for a Q1 type. The process takes only four working days. After you get it and enter PRC with the Q1, you are required to get a residence permit within 30 days. Then you can live legally for a long time.
