About:Visa Policy of China

Z visa or M type

Hello
I have recently had a job offer for a company based in Hong Kong which would require me to work in mainland China. The company are unable to offer me a work permit as they are not based in mainland therefore I was wondering if there is any way around the problem? Would an invitation letter stating that I would be sent to mainland PRC for a series of business meetings and factory visits to apply for a business M type be an alternative?
Thanks

Tom, as you will work in mainland, there must be some business partners there, right? You can ask them to send you an invitation letter stating you need to attend some meetings and business visits in mainland. Then you can apply for a business M type with this invitation letter. It's not necessary to get the Z type.
