About:Chinese Currency & Money Exchange

Can I bring some Australian Dollar AUD to China and exchange in the Bank of China?

or should I exchange to USD? Where can I check the BOC rates? What is their open hours?

Bruno, you can exchange your AUD into CNY at BOC branches after you arrive. It's useless to check the daily rates because they don't follow the rates. The exchange rates they use are higher than daily rates. I exchanged some CNY into Thai Baht last year and encountered what I said.

Usually, the banks are open from 09:00 to 17:00. At weekends or during holidays, they are usually open from 09:00 to 16:00.
