About:How to Travel to China without a Visa

Where do we apply for a temporary entry permit for a layover of 12 hours or less

I am a usa citizen. My husband a Sri Lankan National. We are travelling from LA to Hong Kong to Colombo. We have a 12 hour layover in the hong kong airport and would like to spend a few hours exploring Hong Kong. How and where can we apply for a temporary entry permit. Is it possible for husband as well?

Saffina, you needn't apply one in advance. However, your husband should apply for a visitor/transit type from Chinese embassy in advance. According to the related rule, all people from Sri Lanka are required to apply entry permits no matter they just transit or come for tourist purpose.
