Nalaka, if I were you, I would apply via Chinese CVASC centers in UK. According to what I know, if you apply for a Chinese tourist type in your country, you should also provide the invitation letter issued by Chinese Tourism Bureau. It's very difficult for you to acquire one unless you join a group tour and ask the agency to do it.

There is no requirement on how much you should have in your account. You just need to provide your bank statement in recent six months. Usually, your money in your account should be able to cover all your expenses during your stay in PRC.

Hi Nick,

Thanks for the answer. We have contacted the Chinese embassy in UK and they advice us to apply from Sri Lanka and they said it will be much easy. What they said did not make sense to me. Do you think at this moment I should get an invitation letter and apply it from UK? please advice. Thanks

Nalaka

Nalaka, they say this because Sri Lanka is your home country. Generally speaking, it's easier to apply from your home country rather than a third country, but for your case, you had better apply from UK and ask for an invitation letter from your family.
