About:China Transit Visa

72 hour transit US to Beijing and Beijing to Hong Kong (which does not require a visa)

Can I transit in Beijing to Hong Kong, staying approx. 36 hours in Beijing without a Chinese entry permit?

James, you can make use of 72 hours free transit in Beijing. So you needn't apply one in advance.
