About:Best Time to Visit Huangshan Mountain

I am visiting yellow mountain 1 January 2016 for 2 days.

May I know the weather still cold? Is there any public transportation there or I need to have a planned tour before I reach there?

Yeah, it shall be quite cold on the mount. It is best to prepare or rent down jacket on the top.

In Jan. public transportation to the scenic area is available. Don't worry! If flexible, let me know from which domectic city you will depart and I can inform you of the best transportation. By the way, it is not hard for travelers to visit on their own.

Hi, thank you very much for your response.
I will be travelling from shanghai directly to yellow mountain provided if transportation allow. My planning is to visit Mt. Qiyun and if possible Lotus peak as well and also Tunxi Ancient Street. What is your recommendation if we are travelling by our own? As we have 5 person, so it is inconvenient for us to take taxi.

Oh, this is the only problem that you have 5 in your group. Well, you may consider renting a car in HS City for ur convenience.

Many buses to HS City (Tunxi) is scheduled at Shanghai South Long-distance Bus Station. Upon getting to Tunxi, the ancient street is within 2.5km away. Flag down two cabs to reach. U can stay in the city for a night. In the next day, rent a van to Mt. Qiyun, around CNy200 for a round trip. Then at Tunxi Bus Station, take a bus to the Yellow Mountain and see the Lotus Peak.
