UK national applying for China visa

Hi, I am a UK national backpacking and would like to know if I can apply for a China visa in HK? It doesnt seem clear if I can as I will not be a resident yet I am not on the list mentioned above saying you cant apply if you are a non resident from a certain country. Clarification would be appreciated. Failing that can I apply from South Korea?

The policies in HK are kind of obscure. In principle, you can't apply from there because you don't have HK residency. However, in real practice, you can possibly get it from Hong Kong with the help of agencies. I don't advise you to apply from South Korea, because it seems that you need to hold an ARC card valid for at least six month if you apply from there.

Thanks so much. How do I get a 6 months valid ARC card?

If you just go to South Korea for short-term, it's impossible for you to acquire the ARC card. It's issued to those who stay there for long time.
