About:Requirements for Permanent Residence Permit

Permanent residence visa application.

Hi. My name is Linda. I have been to china for three years. I'm married to a chinese man and having two kids. I found a job as an English teacher but the boss wants to change my Q1 type to Z type but I'm afraid if I should accept it or not. I still have two years to go in order to reach the required 5 years to apply for permanent recidence but I'm not sure if I can still apply a permanent recidence while I have a Z type although I have documents for my family reunion here in china. Please help in advise .

Linda, it's OK to apply for the permanent residence permit after you got married for five years, even though you are on a Z type. Just listen to your boss's advice and change the Q type to a Z type. Otherwise, you can't work legally in China.
