About:China Travel Tips

Canadian citizen and working as an English teacher in Ningbo.

wanting to know if I am required to apply for special visitor's visa if going to shanghai and Beijing next year.

No. Since you legally work in China, you are allowed to travel all mainland cities, so no other visa is needed. But it is best to take along the foreigners' residence permit.
