My wife and I are currently living in Tbilisi, Georgia.  During the second half of November, we hope to visit a friend in Chengdu, then return to Tbilisi via Xian.  The tentative dates for our trip are November 18-28.  What can you advise, regarding flights and other travel arrangements?David Smith, dvdbrsmith@aol.com

Wow, you actually have a long time which is enough to cover the must-sees in CD, Xian and the surroundings. In CD downtown, ask your friends to show you around. The Wuhou Temple  (Memorial Temple of Marquis Wu), Panda Base, Jinli Street and Chunxi Road should not be missed. The Jiuzhai Valley (fly to Jiuhuang Airport and transfer to a bus or taxi to reach) and Huanglong Scenic Area are also worthwhile. You can spend two to three days on the two spots. After that, an early bus can directly take you to Guangyuan. The Jianmen Shu Road is suggested. Afterwards, direct trains can take you from Guangyuan to Xian within 8-10 hours.
