About:Facilities & Services in T3 of Beijing Capital Airport

Travelling from the UK on UK passport do we need a visa?(stopover in Beijing is for 10 hours)

Onwards to Auckland, NZ

No, you don't need to apply for the visa because your layover is within 24 hours.
