About:Xinjiang Travel

Xinjiang 9 days in October

Hi

I have 9 days (1.-9th of October) that region traveling from Shanghai.
What should I see in those days? Do you have an itinerary suggestion? Maybe it makes sense to travel first to Kashgar and then make my way to Urumqi?

If you spend all 9 days in Xinjiang, it is not worthwhile. I suggest you go to Gansu.
Day 1: Kasgar: Grand Bazaar (Sunday Market), Id Kah Mosque
Day 2: old street quarters, Abakh Khoja Tomb
Day 3: Urumqi: Tianshan Mountain, take a train to Turpan
Day 4: Jiaohe Ruins, Sugong Pagoda
Day 5: Bizaklik Thousand Buddha Cave, Flaming Mountain
Day 6: Karez Well , flight to Dunhuang:
Day 7: Mogao Caves, Duhuang Museum, Echoing-sand Mountain
Day 8: Echoing-sand Mountain, Crescent Lake
Day 9: flight to Shanghai and departure

So you rather think we should go to Gansu province instead of XJ? And do what kind of itinerary?

Well, nine days are enough for you to visit that region. Aksu, Kashgar, Urumqi and Turpan have many popular scenic areas. Personally, you can arrange your sightseeing in the following way.
Day 1: Tianshan Mountain, Tiemen Pass
Day 2: Kizil Thousand-Buddha Caves, Mingwudage Mountain
Day 3: Karakuri Lake
Day 4: Grand Bazaar, Id Kah Mosque, Abakh Khoja Tomb
Day 5: Yarkant King Mausoleum , Silk Village, Minfeng County
Day 6: Takla Makan Desert
Day 7: the Ruins of Ancient City of Jiaohe, the Sugong Pagoda, the Bizaklik Thousand Buddha Caves, the Flaming Mountains
Day 8: Karez System
Day 9: Go back to Urumqi first and fly to Shanghai
