About:Chinese Embassy in Japan

Travel with Passport at Embassy

Hello, we will apply for a Chinese visa in Japan (Tokyo) and have all the right papers. But we will need to leave our passports at the Chinese embassy to receive the entry permit (4 working days). Do we receive a document as a way of showing that our passport is at the embassy, in return? so we have proof of identity when we travel around in Japan and Tokyo during these 4 working days? thank you

Nina, after you submit the application, you will be given a pick-up slip which can prove that you are applying and you do not currently take the passport. I think it can be used. If you worry about getting into troubles, you are advised to print a copy of the passport beforehand.
