About:How to Travel to China without a Visa

LAX to Singapore

Planning on flying LAX to Singapore but there is a 23HR layover in Shanghai both ways, does this qualify for the 72HR visa free transit? I'm a US citizen. Or is there a possibility to leave the airport as they both arrive in Shanghai at night and it'd be nice to stay at a hotel. Also is it ok to apply for the free transit both ways? Thanks!

Denny, it's fine. You can enjoy the free transit policy on both ways and under the free transit rule you are allowed to stay in a hotel ourside of the airport.
