About:China Customs Declaration

Do I need to pay tax if one item is for personal use and the other is for work related purposes?

If I bring two Macbooks and two iPhones (one for work related purposes and one for personal use) do I need to pay the tax upon entering China? They would be new but without the packaging, etc.

Hi, each person is allowed to take one iphone and Macbook tax-free for personal use. So for the other one, you will probably be taxed.

Hi Lisa, would it be right to say that even if they are not new products, I am only allowed to take one of each, (if I want to avoid being taxed)

Jay, I heard that some people just store contacts, messages and photos in the iphone/Mac to prove that it's for personal use. If you want to avoid the tax, you might try this way. But I can't guarantee that it does work.
