Do australians need visa to enter shenzhen for 12 hours?

I will be in Hong Kong and want to pop over to shenzhen queens spa for a night before leaving Hong Kong.

Yes, the visa is necessary. But you don't need to apply for it in advance.
When you arriving at SZ Port, you can apply for 5 days VOA. After that, you are allowed to enter.
