About:Chinese Embassy in Sri Lanka

can I get my VISA without the NOTICE document from China?

Ayubowan!
I have the invitation letter from Decathlon Shanghai to attend the Prodcution leader week (week 42) from 11th October to 17th October.
I have all the documents including the company letters covering my expenses, passport, invitation letter.
but my traveling agent is asking for a document named VISA NOTICE and says it is mandatory if someone is visiting china for the first time.
can you please let me know the need of this letter as my shanghai office find it difficult to get that letter and says that other countries are not asking for this letter.

Gajaba, it's true that the citizens of most countries do not need this letter to apply for the business M type entry permit. However, for Sri Lankan citizens, the letter is a must. The letter is also named as the invitation letter or invitation confirmation letter from a duly authorized unit. The company in Shanghai should help you to get it from the municipal foreign affairs office.

Hi Sabina,

thank you so much for your reply.
could you kindly tell me if the my shanghai office can directly apply this letter from the office that you have mentioned above?
I already have my invitation letter which was sent by my Shanghai office, duly filled VISA application, company financial details,Passport and the pictures with me.
and I want to know usually how long will it take to get this letter from the municipal office?
thanks again for your reply and waiting for your answers for the above.

hi Sabina,

thanks a lot. but i just checked with our china office and they said that the Shanghai chinese government office has stop issuing VISA letters to Sri lanka.
I don't know how true is that but seems I have to give up the idea on going for this training workshop.

I haven't heard that before. However, if they are telling the truth, then you have no choice but to give up the chance for training. It's a pity.
