Dual Citizenship, which passport to use?

during the application process in obtaining a Visa,
am i able to use a non-u.s.a passport to enter China with the visa requested and return with my USA passport? I have a passport which allows me to obtain the entry permit for less than the required fee for an American passport.

Andy, if you use the non-US passport to enter, then you should also use it to exit. If you don't have an entry stamp on the passport, the immigration officer may stop you.
