How Many Batteries can I take?

I remember at some Chinese check-in desk it shows you examples of how many batteries you can take on a plane. I have something like 8 camera batteries, plus 4 video camera batteries. Is there a total limit of all the maH values added up together? All the advice on the web talks about each batteries individual limit.

John, the total capacity of all your batteries should be no more than 160wh. According to the rule, if total capacity is less than 100wh, you can take without any problem. If it's between 100 and 160wh, you need to inform the airline and ask permission to take.

You can calculate each battery' capacity in this way: Wh=(mAh X V)/1000.
