About:China Transit Visa
I am traveling to Shanghai for 3 days from the US and returning to the US. Does the 72 hour apply

What if I have a ticket to Thailand that takes off within 72 hours. Basically buy my rountrip ticket from the uS then buy a ticket to Thailand to qualify for the 72 hour transit? When the 72 hours is up I just get on the plane back to the U.S. If I only go through customs when I arrive and show the Thailand ticket I should be able to qualify for the 72 hour transit?0

Robert, if you fly US-Beijing-Thailand-US, then you are qualified. What you mentioned is not applicable. You need to fly from Beijing to Thailand and then fly from Thailand to US.0
