Sister is Permanent Resident in Hong Kong - Can she sponsor me on Q1 visa?

Objective is to travel to Hong Kong and find employment and live at my sister's place. Can sister (has Hong Kong Permanent Resident) sponsor me on the Q1 type for this purpose? How long is the Q1 type valid for? A longer duration would be preferable as it would give more time to find employment.

John, Q1 is for mainland China. If you plan to work in HK, you should find an employer and ask him to help you apply for Hong Kong employment entry permit. Australians can stay in HK for 90 days at most without applying anything in advance. You can try to find a job during this period and then apply for the type for employment.

Thanks Owen,
I have been informed that obtaining a work visa takes about 8 weeks so that leaves about 1 month to find a job in Hong Kong. I have read in forums it takes about 6 months plus to find a job. So it would be preferable if there is a visa that my sister can use to sponsor me to enable me to stay in Hong Kong for greater than 6 months. Not sure if such a visa exists.
