About:Chengde Travel

What's Chengde like in mid December?

Is it safe to go during this month to the temples? How cold does it get? Is it colder than downtown Beijing?

Thanks,
Mick

1. There is no much natural scenery to see in that month as it is winter time, which gives people a sense of desolation. But it's Ok to visit the cultural sites, which have no much difference than in warm days.
2. Yes, generally speaking, it's not necessary for you to worry about safety problem. You can go and tour around. Don't worry.
3. According to the previous weather statistics, the temperature during that period of time was 5F to 20F. It will be colder than downtown area Beijing. You need to bring thick clothes, sweaters, overcoats, gloves and scarves.
