About:FAQ of Chinese Visa Application

is there any way I can obtain my Visa before I leave the UK?

I will be visiting Beijing on 21/03/2016 on a cruise. I will be leaving the UK on 17/12/2015. As this is more than 3 months before my visit to China.

Pam, you can try to apply for a multiple entry one which is valid for six or 12 months. If this is issued to you, it doesn't matter whether you enter within three months after the date of issuance. If you cannot get the multiple entry type or you don't want to, you can apply for the single entry type at other countries before you visit China.

Pam, the double entry type is usually valid for three months while the multiple entry type is usually valid for six or 12 months. So the double type is not for your choice. You can obtain the multiple type more than three months before your visit. However, the best way is to apply it from other countries if you don't need multiple entries. It's expensive.

Sorry to bother you again!
On the application form it states that you have to show the cruise itinerary along with the application. Would there be a problem if I requested a multiple entry Visa as we will only be in Beijing for one day.

Unfortunately it will not be feasible to apply in another country because we will only be at most of the ports for one day.
Also sometimes the cruise ships have to miss ports out due to weather conditions etc.

Pam, I think it's OK. You can write that you have the intension to visit China again. It you have a friend in China, it will be better. You can ask the friend to send you an invitation letter and stating you want to visit him or her frequently.

Pam I think if this is the first time you have visited China it is highly unlikey they will give you a multi entry type.

Go to your nearest Chinese embassy and get this comfimed, you may need an invitation letter from the company or person you intend to visit
