I'm not sure if the university is suitable for Indians or not. But it indeed has many overseas students, mostly from Asian countries. So I think you won't feel strange or uncomfortable there.

Will you live at the campus that located at no.92, Beier Road?
If yes, as I know, there is no popular indian restaurant nearby. But you can go to Pakwaan Indian Restaurant. It provides authentic and delicious indian cuisines. And the prices are reasonable. The address is Gate 3, No.18, Shisanwei Road, Heping District. Hope you like.

About the attractions, Imperial Palace, Zhaoling Tomb and Botanical Garden are highly recommended.
1. To Imperial Palace: Take subway line 1 at Taiyuan Street Station to get to Huaiyuanmen Station. Then walk east around 740 yards.
2. To Zhaoling Tomb, take bus no.231 to Beiling Park. Then walk northeast around 340 yards.
3. To Botanical Garden, take subway line 1 to Pangjiang Street. Then transfer to bus line 3 of Special Shen Fu Line, get off at South Gate of World Expo Station. After that, walk north around 80 yards.
