hello i would like to know if i will need a health check for the f visa?

I'm going to Sichuan with a company and they are requesting a health check. Is that even required or are they just being very through? I'm from the USA.

Usually, health check isn't required for F type application. Is it the comany or Chinese consulate/embassy who asks for the health certificate? If it is the embassy, you have no choice but provide the health certificate. Otherwise, you can't get your F type.

I think it's the company asking actually. We haven't even submitted any info to consulate. Actually they want me to get the health check done, scan a copy of it, then email it to them. Then after I get to China they want the original health check form. I think it's it's just the Company asking for it.

Then I think you should contact Chinese embassy in USA to confirm this. If the embassy tells that health certificate isn't required, you'd better ask the company what's the health certificate used for.
