where to travel during the october golden week

We are two people who will be traveling in China this year during the October Golden week, leaving from Shanghai and ending our trip in Beijing. We would like to travel on our own (that is not as part of a tour) and visit one or more quiet places that have a good deal of natural beauty. If birds are plentiful that would be even better. Can you provide advice?Michael

Do you mean that you wanna also visit other cities except for Shanghai and Beijing?If yes, you can use the rest of time to go to Zhangjiajie Scenic Area and Huangshang. These two scenic spots are famous for beautiful natural scenery.Notably, you can also go to Yanqing County Birds Wetland Natural Reserve. It's located at the northwest of Yanqing County, Beijing.
