Visa requirement - eight hours in Sanya

I am travelling from Hong Kong to Singapore on a cruise ship, and calling at Sanya. As I will only be there for approximately 10 hours, do I need an entry permit: (1) if I go ashore for a few hours; and (2) if I remain on board the ship? Patrick

Patrick, you don't need the transit permit as you are eligible for the 24h direct transit policy. If you want to go ashore, you can apply for a temporary stay permit at the port. It is for free.
