About:China Tourist Visa

I am on a six-month resident visa and want to invite a friend from USA to visit.

Can I write a letter as the "inviting entity?" And how do I get an official stamp?

Erica, you can send a letter as the "inviting entity". The official stamp is not necessary. You signature will be fine for the letter.
