About:Chinese Holidays

We wanted to know if in this upcoming September 2015 the holiday is only Sept 3rd?

or if the 4th and 5th are also included? We will be arriving in Beijing on. Sept 4th and planned to see sites that evening and the following day. Will there be any special parades to watch on these days? Thanks in advanced!

Rod, Sept 3rd is the Victory Day to celebrate the 70th Anniversary of Victory over Japan. The holiday lasts until Sept. 5th. However there is no parade on Sept. 4th and 5th. There is a grand military review on Sept. 3.

Thank you May for your response. Will Tiananmen Square by open on Sept 4th as usual? Will the Great Wall, the Forbidden city and the Temple of Heaven be open on Sept 5th as usual?

Rod, everything will be back to normal from September 4th. You can visit the Forbidden City and Temple of Heaven. However, Chinese people are still on their vacation on September 4th and 5th. Therefore, you might meet the crowds at the tourist sites.

until the next holiday. It looks like in China they are getting LONG holidays periods more and more often. A 3-days statutory holiday become a 11 days off work! Now we have another 11 days form end Sept to the whole first week of October. Factories are not that busy anymore. The government is then making them busy and just trying to making them spend their money
