About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Do Nepali and Ghanaian from Japan flying to Kathmandu via Pudong require temporary entry permit

if they want to stay in hotel outside the airport

If they would like to spend more than 24 hours in mainland China, they need to apply for a transit visa in advance. If the layover is not beyond 24 hours, they can use the free transit policy. To go outside and stay in a hotel, they should apply for a temporary stay permit at the airport.
