Hongqiao Railway station to Pudong Airport, fast and safe by bus?

Dear all,

I will arrive at Hongqiao Railway Station and need to go to Pudong Airport. What would you suggest I should take?
I read somewhere that taking the Subway Line 2, I need to do an interchange. But on the metro Map the Line 2 goes from the Hongqiao Railway Station directy to the Pudong Airport Station. I am a bit confused.

When taking the Bus Airport Line 1 from Hongqiao Airport to Pudong Airport: does the Bus stops inbetween somewhere or does is go directly to Pudong Airport without stops inbetween, making the both airports being the final and only stop?

Thanks in advance,

Sophia

If taking subway line 2, you need to get off at Guanglan Road and get onto another train on the SAME platform. It's not that difficult and troublesome. The subway line 2 goes to Pudong airport directly, but there will be fewer passengers after Guanglan Road, so they change a train with fewer carriages and departing less frequently to cut down operation cost.

The airport line 1 runs from Hongqiao airport to Pudong airport, with a stop at Hongqiao Railway Station. So you can just get onboard at Honqgiao Railway station and go to the destination directly.

In usual time, there is no much difference between the two ways, with subway being cheaper than shuttle bus. But if it is peak travel time (07:00-09:00 and 17:00-19:00) and there is a traffic jam, subway will be time saving than shuttle bus. But it will be crowded in the train too.
