There are two easy ways to distinguish the real or fake RMB.
1. The real one doesn't have very smooth surface.
2. You can see the face of hidden Chairman Mao printed on the real one when through out the light. And his collar is uneven.
In addition, when people give changes to you, try to avoid big denomination ones, such as CNY 50. Generally speaking, the possibility of fake CNY 20, CNY 10, CNY 5 or CNY 1 is lower.
