About:Forbidden City

What time should I go if the tickets are already sold out online?

I tried to buy the tickets online but they are already sold out! What time should I go to make sure I can still get tickets? Where in the Forbidden City entrance can you get tickets and is it easy to find? Is it fairly organized or is it like a crazy market? Thanks!

Hi, the number of visitors are limited to 80,000 each day and only 40,000 tickets are issued online. So if you go there early and queue up at the ticketing office, you can still get a ticket. They start to sell ticket at 08:30. I suggest you go and queue up at least 30-60min in advance.
