I came in to my friend's city to stay with her and hang out before school started ( in a different city ) I came in at 5 AM Friday and just realized I need to do this registration. Is the penalty going to be severe if I do it Monday and do I need to go to my city of study immediately?

Hi, Taylor! The penalty won't be too severe if you register on Monday. After you register in the police, you should ask for a registration form of temporary residence. Then you had better go back to your city of study to do the residence permit application if you hold the X1 type. You know, you need to get the temporary residence permit within 30 days after your arrival.
