time needed for processing work permit

I have been told by my future employer that it takes 2-3 months for a work permit to be processed before I can apply for a Z visa, is this correct?

Janet, after all the necessary documents are ready and submitted, it takes about seven to 15 working days to process the work permit. I don't think it will take that long.
