About:Exit Regulations of China

Will I be taxed if I take more than $5000 into China?

I am going to China next week to study and I need to take my money with me to pay for my accommodation etc. If I declare this money, will I be taxed?

It's up to the customs. They can decide to impose a fine if you carry too much. I suggest you depost your money in your debit card and then withdraw money from ATMs after you arrive. This won't cause any trouble when you pass the immigration and the customs.
