I'm wondering if I need a visa considering the 72 hours rule? Thank you

Hi, I am planning to visit my boyfriend on a cruise ship and one of the ports of call is Shanghai. We are staying only for one day at a time (for example from 7am till 10pm).

Since you take the cruise ship to arrive, you are not qualified for 72 hours free transit. However, your stay is less than 24 hours. You can make use of 24 hours free transit policy to visit Shanghai.
