About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

can I use the 72 hour free transit

I am currently in China and want to visit Hong Kong at the end of my trip before flying home from Shanghai. I have a 1 entry visa, can I use the 72 hour free transit for re entry into Shanghai in order to fly home?
If I get the train from Hong Kong back to Shanghai is it also possible to get the free transit?

Marth, if you take a plane from HK to Shanghai and then to UK, you are eligible for the 72h free transit policy. If you take a train from HK to Shanghai, you can only make use of the 24h free transit.
