what if tiananmen gate is closed?

If Tianamen Tower is closed, can we still enter the Palace Museaum through Meridian gate? Or we need to enter through some other gate?

Meridian Gate is the only entry gate of the Palace Museum. The museum will be closed on the coming Sep. 3rd and every monday (except July and August). For other time, it will be open even if the Tiananmen Tower is closed.
