About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Multi-city trip - does transit apply?

Hi I'm holding a Canadian passport and doing a multi-city trip once I get to Taipei from Canada. My trip will be Taipei to Beijing to Seoul to Japan, then back to Taipei. The flight lands at 16:00 on Sept 19, and departs to Seoul on Sept 22, 8:30. Could I take advantage of the 72 hour free transit? The visa doesn't start until Sept 20, 00:00 right?

Angie, according to other travelers, 72 hours free transit in Beijing is counted from the moment you arrive and have the procedure done at the immigration. If it is true, then I am afraid that you are disqualified. Anyway, please contact the immigration in the airport at 0086-10-56095400 to confirm this.
