Tourist visa - staying with a friend who is renting apartment. do we need to include landlord?

Hi,
I decided to cancel my hotels and only spend first day in a hotel since my friend said I can stay there. My friend is renting an apartment so we want to know if we will have to get landlord involved if I want to register my stay there at the local police station?

How much trouble is that? I plan to stay there for two months.

Branko, as you will spend the first day in a hotel, I think the hotel will inform your residence to the local police station. When you move your friend's apartment, you don't need to register again.

Really? Don't I have to be registered somewhere the whole time of my stay? That's what I heard. I searched online for the registration paper you get back from registering and it has "from" and "to" dates.

I'm really worried that if I get stopped on the street by police they'll complicate things.

Branko, you really worry too much. The police won't stop you randomly on the street.
