About:China Visa Application Requirements

What visa type should I apply and is the airline ticket required?

i am U.S. citizens and plan to visit my parents who are Chinese citizens.

Eva, if your stay length is less than month, you can apply for an L type. If you want to stay longer, you should apply for a Q type. You can ask your parents to write you are invitation and send a photocopy of their ID cards, so that you don't need to provide airline tickets.
