About:Chinese Embassy in U.S.A.

Hello. I live and work in Beijing. My passport expires in Jan ,2016.

My one year resident permit has just been renewed, but the expiration date is set to match my passport. Once I renew my passport, my permit exp date will be updated. My question is, I plan to travel to Guanzhou, Macao, and Hong Kong the last two weeks in August. Would it be a problem for me to return from Hong Kong to to Beijing since my passport has less than 6 months on it?

It's OK. There won't be problems. You can enter even though your passport has less than six months on it.
