Qin Shi Huang died in 210BC while touring Eastern China. He most probably died from Mercury poisoning, due to the large amount of Mercury tablets he ingested in hopes of achieving immortality. His alchemists believed that Mercury possessed such life-extending qualities. Evidently, they were incorrect.
